Recently, we've been receiving all sorts of hints by email. The question is, are they the same as the little blue squares we see on FamilySearch Family Tree. The answer may be NO. In a discussion on the LDS- Ward- Consultant website on RootsWeb, it was suggested that the email version of hints is probably generated by a computer algorithm. However familiar blue square hint we see on our family tree is more likely generated from indexing and church service missionaries. In other words, a real live person is taking a look at the records to see if there is any relationship between the record and the person in our family tree.
Suggestion, always search out the blue boxes and the emails before searching for family sources.
